For schools

AI for the whole school,
kept on the record.

Margin marks for the department, Marlo answers the school inside Moodle, and a teacher signs everything that counts.

Oversight

An administrator can open any Marlo conversation in the school, with the escalated ones marked.

Marlo, the administrator’s view

Marked for the department, answered for the school.

Margin and Marlo, the drafts between them, and the paperwork a principal asks for first.

One standard across markers

Margin marks the department’s class sets by morning, to one rubric, with the reasoning written out for every student. Every mark stays a draft until a teacher signs it, and who signed it and when stay on the record.

Answers with the source

Marlo sits inside the school’s Moodle, and works with no other LMS today. Staff ask about policy, deadlines and live records, students ask about the course, and every answer comes with its source attached.

Every conversation on record

Administrators read every conversation with Marlo, for inspection, and see each student’s use of the monthly allowance against the caps they set. A question Marlo cannot answer goes to the escalation queue, where a person replies and closes it.

Drafts and flags

Report cards drafted from the gradebook, incoming transcripts read when supplied as text, and the students who have gone quiet, surfaced when someone asks. Each one goes to a person before it counts.

One address per school

Each school has its own address, such as yourschool.elevategrade.com, with its own plan and its own invoices. The school is the controller of its data and Elevate Grade the processor, in the data processing addendum.

The platform, or Enterprise

The platform is Margin and Marlo at their School sizes and Daybook School for up to 10 teachers, more by arrangement, for one school, at CA$1,222 a month, with 50,000 assistant credits a month for Marlo, set up with you by a person. ElevateSIS joins it when it ships. Several schools take Enterprise, with one agreement and one invoice over all of them, and both are on the pricing page.

Margin · The hand-back

Signed by the teacher, then handed back in one download.

  • The review queue empties as the teacher signs, and the task records that the set was exported.
  • One download holds a marked PDF for every student, the class summary and a CSV, to hand back or to file.
  • Who reviewed each paper, and when, stays on the record for the school.

The last paper in the review queue signed, then a student’s graded PDF, the class summary PDF and the ZIP of the whole set, and the task marked exported.
Who can see what

Each role sees its own part of the record.

What each person can see by default, in Marlo and in Margin.

  • Principal or administratorEvery Marlo conversation and the escalation queue, each student’s credits this month against the caps they set, and School Pulse across courses when they ask for it.
  • TeacherTheir own courses in Marlo, not students’ conversations, and in Margin each mark as a draft until they sign it, with the gradebook and report card drafts built from those marks.
  • StudentTheir own conversations with Marlo, their submissions and released feedback, and no marks from Margin until the teacher hands the set back.

What stays with a person

  • Every mark, until a teacher signs it.
  • Every report card, which a teacher downloads. Nothing is sent to a student or a parent.
  • Every credit decision on an incoming transcript, which stays with the principal of record.
  • The assignment itself. Marlo will not write, solve or submit a student’s work.

Safe for a school, by construction.

Each school in its own environment

Every school runs isolated from every other. Cross-tenant access is denied and verified in automated testing.

Never used to train

Student work is sent only to generate the marks and the feedback, never for advertising, resale or training a model.

Hosted in Canada

The database and files live on cloud infrastructure in Canada. The AI step runs in the United States under commitments not to train on the data, and the school is the controller of it in writing.

The full terms are on the privacy policy and the data processing addendum.

Which LMS does Marlo work with?

Moodle today, and no other LMS. We install the plugin in the school’s own instance and ingest the policy documents and courses you choose.

Can teachers read students’ conversations with Marlo?

Not by default. Administrators read every conversation, for inspection, and answer the escalation queue. Teachers use Marlo on their own courses: the grading queue, missing work and each student’s timeline.

What is the platform?

Margin and Marlo at their School sizes and Daybook School for up to 10 teachers, more by arrangement, for one school, at CA$1,222 a month, set up with you by a person: 10 teacher seats, 500 marked submissions a month, 50,000 assistant credits a month for Marlo, and 20 hours of recording and 50 AI questions and recipe runs a month for each Daybook teacher. ElevateSIS joins it when it ships. Enterprise puts several schools under one agreement and one invoice. Both are on the pricing page.

Who controls the school’s data?

The school is the controller and Elevate Grade the processor, in writing, in the data processing addendum. Each school runs in its own isolated environment, and on termination its personal data is deleted or, on request, returned.

How should a school review an AI tool before students use it?

Check which privacy law applies, where the data is stored, the age the tool’s terms allow, how it handles harmful content, who reviews its output, what students and parents are told, whether it is accessible, and what the vendor’s terms permit. The free AI tool safety checklist sets out 47 checks in those areas, each with why it matters and its source.

Does anything reach a parent without a teacher?

No. Every mark is a draft until a teacher signs it, and report cards are drafted onto the school’s own form for the teacher to download. Nothing is sent to a student or a parent.

Can a teacher try it before the school decides?

Yes. A teacher can start Margin free at the school’s own address: sign up with an email, with no card, and mark a limited number of papers free. Anyone can try Marlo on its page with a sample course. The platform is bought on the pricing page and set up with the school by a person.
